About Us
Cooper Quarter Horses is a 560 acre farm located in rural Maysville, GA just off I-85 in North East Georgia. Run by Clarice Cooper and Ryan Shotkoski, Cooper QH was established in 1988 with their main focus to be showing in AQHA and NSBA competition and the breeding of a small band of hand picked mares. In early 2000 the farm expanded with the purchase of leading western pleasure horse: Dont Skip Zip.
The facility now consists of a heated show barn with offices, a conference room, and full bath with laundry area. An outdoor arena and round pen all used for starting out Dont Skip Zip prospects. The breeding portion of the farm consists of an 46 stall heated breeding barn with foaling stalls, a separate mare barn used to house open and special care mares, and 2 state-of-the art labs. Farm owned mares are kept in individual private paddocks where they receive grain and alfalfa hay twice daily. All 25 private paddocks are sown with Bermuda grass to allow for the mares to be housed outdoors until they foal.
The expansive 560 acres allow for the horses to have access to 10 spacious pastures of rolling hills, creeks, and wooded areas for shade in the hot summers.
The “back 40″ houses 36 draft mares, hand selected for disposition and personality, for the selective embryo transfer program.
And of course, the facility is home to AQHA, NSBA, and Equistat Leading Sire: Dont Skip Zip,
Visitors are welcome anytime at Cooper Quarter Horses, LLC and we always have a fine selection of prospects, finished horses, and broodmares in foal to our stallions for your consideration.
